Small Change on Lady Small Change

What were you hoping for?
An exploration of the unknown, to learn a little more about the universe, to find that hidden part in all of us that resides only in dreams. Failing that, the best Fish & Chips in Austin with someone who knows their way around sea food.

First impressions?
A fine singer/rapper, excellent driver, and a very pretty lady.

What did you talk about?
The freshness of fish…David Sedaris…pugs…Euro2020.

Any awkward moments?
When I was promised Amy’s ice cream and did not get Amy’s ice cream.

Good table manners?
Ate her gross sea insects with expertise. It was impressive.

Best thing about Lady Small Change?
That she too takes photos of her food, despite the oldies and the cool kids looking down their old/cool noses at us.

Would you introduce her to your friends?
Absolutely. They would probably find me much more interesting when she was there.

Describe Lady Small Change in three words
Ineffable, enigmatic, tiny.

What do you think she made of you?
Someone who needs a shave and a hair cut. But the accent probably saved me.

Did you go on somewhere?
We were supposed to go to Amy’s Ice Cream but, well. We know how that turned out.

And… did you kiss?
Sure! She kissed me and at least three dogs over the course of the evening. She’s unstoppable.

If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be?
Larger pieces of fish and a pixie to suddenly appear to pay the bill.

Marks out of 10?
14/10. Would buy furniture with.

Would you meet again?
Yes! We have an ice cream date lined up. She doesn’t know…except now she does.

What were you hoping for?
A tasty meal without gluten poisoning.

First impressions?
Friendly face, shirt almost free of dog hair, cute accent. He said his name was Colin?

What did you talk about?
How authentic the fish n chips were, and how expensive the entire meal was. We decided it was worth the price to get fresh fish so far inland.

Any awkward moments?
We didn’t know if we were supposed to wait to be seated or where to order when it became clear that no one was coming to help us.

Good table manners?
Excellent!

Best thing about Small Change?
He paid for dinner and didn’t even ask me to Venmo him something to help cover it. And he was up for a stop by Amy’s Ice Cream on the way home, but (sadly) I decided I was too full for dessert.

Would you introduce him to your friends?
Absolutely!

Describe Small Change in three words
My current husband.

What do you think he made of you?
His current wife.

Did you go on somewhere?
No. We toyed with the idea of stopping for ice cream on the way home, but I decided I couldn’t eat anymore.

And… did you kiss?
I just kissed him on the arm because we’re laying down watching TV and that‘s what I can reach.

If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be?
I would have ordered something smaller.

Marks out of 10?
11

Would you meet again?
Already have! We have plans for later tonight, tomorrow, later this week, later this year, and for years to come.
