Have fun, kids. You’re young – you know nothing of the world and the dangers it holds. Think not of the terrors of unemployment, the hateful specter of bigotry, the night sweats that come from merely considering your place in the universe.
No, don’t give it a second thought, you, our last best young hopes for the future.
Get out into the world you know – climb aboard your wheeled chariot of choice and fly down back lanes and over ditches. Speed between the gnarled trees of local parks. Do that thing where it looks like you’re surfing but you’re in a concrete skateboard park. I’m sure there’s a name for that.
Choose wisely, though: are you a biker boy? A skateboarding girl? A scooter kid or a rollerblader?
Because, sweet young dreamer, you do have to choose.
Skateboarding and rollerblading is not permitted. You’re not in the goddamn circus now, wise guy.
